A seasoned performer at the ripe age of twenty-five, award-winning violinist Elli Choi is already a standout figure in the world of classical music, quickly establishing herself as one of the most talented violinists of her generation.

Choi has performed throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East at esteemed venues such as Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall and David H. Koch Theater, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall, Maison Symphonique de Montréal, Tonhalle Zürich, Rudolfinum Dvořák Hall in Prague, BOZAR Brussels, the Abu Dhabi Palace, and Beijing’s National Center for the Performing Arts.

Elli Choi appears with major orchestras such as the Orchestre Philarmonique de Monte-Carlo, the Belgian National Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Camerata Bern, Armenian State Orchestra and the Juilliard Orchestra.

Recent and upcoming highlights include her debuts at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam performing Bruch’s Violin Concerto with the Ulster Orchestra, at the Casa da Musica in Porto alongside the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música performing Bahms’ Violin Concerto, at the Auditorio de Zaragoza with the Orquestra Reino de Aragón performing Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, as well as performing Bruch’s Violin Concerto with the Belgian National Orchestra in celebration of Belgium's National Day.

As part of a European tour with the Romanian Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gabriel Bebeșelea, Elli Choi will return to Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and make her orchestral debut at Vienna’s Musikverein during the 2026/27 season.

​

In October 2026, Elli Choi has been awarded the Second Prize at the 12th International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.

​

She is also winner of the Monaco World Music Masters in 2016, and has since won top prizes at the Qingdao International Violin Competition, the Classic Strings International Competition held in Dubai, the China International Music Competition. In 2024 she has been awarded Third Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition.

Elli Choi has been invited to perform for several heads of states, including President Emmanuel Macron of France and former Vice President Mike Pence at the United States Department of State, as well as the Duchess of Gloucester at Buckingham Palace. She has also enjoyed performing at distinguished events, most notably the 2019 Lincoln Center Fall Gala honoring John E. Waldron, the 2022 KIND gala “Coming Together for Children Alone” held at the Museum of Natural History in New York City, the annual AmericanChamber of Commerce EU gala in Brussels, and at the World Children’s Day Concert at the Dubai EXPO 2020 as a UNICEF ambassador.

Elli completed her undergraduate studies from Columbia University while simultaneously enrolled at the Juilliard School where she studied since 2009, and has recently received her Master's degree as a Kovner Fellow under the tutelage of Li Lin. She has since started studying at Kronberg Academy with Professor Antje Weithaas and Boris Garlitsky as part of the Professional Studies under the patronage of the Gingko Foundation and J&A Beare's.

Choi currently plays a J. B. Vuillaume c. 1840 on generous loan.
